Pardon my two day lapse I was somewhat tied up with the often trivial politricks that prison has to offer.  For those of you who don't know I hold a position a of power and responsibility in here.  I am part of a group that's called the Mens Advisory Council (MAC) this organization was designed by the bureaucrats of Sacramento in order to serve as a line of communication between the inmate population and the prison officials who oversee the functions of the program at the particular prison your housed.  My title is Vice-Chairman on the executive body, I am second in command on the board.  There is also a general body comprise of 24 members that represent the six buildings on our yard that deal with the in house issues and relay them back to the executive body and then its the duty of the executive body to hold meetings with the Warden and his council to resolve the matters of medical, receive and release, mental health, recreation, culinary, law library, canteen, appeals, mail, visiting, AMI, assignments and chapel so sometimes I can become overwhelmed by this job and miss my pastime (Facebook) because I have taken on the task to speak for 1152 men and trust each and everyone of them have some type of gripe.  You would be amazed that how these big, bad dangerous men are really just scared little boys wanting attention and needing someone to listen.......So again I apologize.

  1. Keep writing. It can be motivational to some to know that, although you are incarcerated, you can still have a voice to the outside world. You, Mr. Mackey, are using that voice (I believe) positively and constructively. I'm sure being in prison for all of one's adult life can take a toll on the mind, body and soul. I pray that you have found God through Christ and that you eventually are released. I will continue to read and share your blog when I am moved to do so. Stay strong and keep the faith.
